Campus Life

Campus Life is for middle and high school students. We meet once a week. Come, bring your friends, and have a really great time.

Upcoming meetings will be held as follows:

Small groups help students think through the issues they face each day, and relate those topics to basic Christian principles and values.

What is Campus Life?

Campus Life is a youth organization focused on high school and middle school age young people who meet regularly in the homes of students under the supervision of adult staff leaders. There are no dues of membership requirements. Campus Life offers trips, conferences, and other recreational activities at nominal cost to students who choose to attend. The adult leaders give special attention to safety and supervision.

Campus Life welcomes inquiries from parents and community leaders. Involvement by students is voluntary and without obligation. Campus Life does not discriminate against any student on the basis of race, religion, family background or gender.

Campus Life believes in the "balanced life" concept and strives to develop the spiritual, physical, mental and social aspects of a young person's life. All areas need attention and nurture for a young person to grow into the mature young adult God intended and their parent's desire.

What happens at a Campus Life meeting?

Campus Life meetings start with informal games and relaxed fun, then move into an open discussion of a selected topic of interest to young people. Considerable preparation is made by the Campus Life leader to provide an environment of informality, yet at the same time achieve a more serious purpose. Everyone is encouraged to express his or her own opinion, if they desire to do so. The result is an active interchange of ideas within an atmosphere of positive peer support.

Campus Life offers more focused meetings to those who would choose to attend with special emphasis on the spiritual area of life and study of the Bible. These meetings are designed to help students relate the message of the Bible to everyday life situations.

What is special about Campus Life?

For more than 30 years, Campus Life has successfully demonstrated the ability to listen, understand and talk with teenagers. The Campus Life philosophy of a balanced life brings a message of hope to young people, communicates Judeo-Christian values and assists the transition from childhood to adulthood.

Is Campus Life associated with our local schools?

Although each Campus Life Club is made up of students from a particular high school or middle school, Campus Life has no legal or financial ties with the school district. Nationally Campus Life is endorsed by many educators, civic leaders, and clergy. Any association with the school on a particular project or issue is done only with full knowledge and approval of school authorities.

Is Campus Life associated witha a particular church?

Campus Life encourages students to develop a personal faith and be involved in a local church. Campus Life staff leaders are members of local Christian churches. Churches of various denominations support Campus Life financially and frequently participate in mutual activities. Campus Life, however, has no formal affiliation with any particular church.

The Campus Life program is directed toward the growing number of teenagers who are losing interest in church involvement. Campus Life seeks to present the Christian faith in word and action so that young people would be positively motivated to actively build a personal faith in Jesus Christ and become involved in a local church.

Who pays for Campus Life?

Campus Life is the high school and middle school division of Youth for Christ, an interdenominational, non-sectarian youth organization that has been in existence since 1944 nationally and since 2001 in Bradford. Although Youth for Christ is a national organization, each chapter is locally incorporated and governed by a board of directors.

The programs of Campus Life and Youth for Christ are self-supported and dependent on voluntary, tax-deductible gifts and contributions from individuals, churches, and businesses. The expansion and development of the Campus Life program is directly related to community support.

Complete financial information is available on request.

Do other communities have Campus Life?

There are more than 1000 full-time staff members in the United States and hundreds more who work part-time with clubs in over 250 communities nationwide. In addition, thousands of adult volunteers participate each week. All these adult volunteers are carefully screened and trained. Most staff members have a bachelor's degree; many have graduate degrees. All staff members receive extensive training and ongoing continuing education.

Youth for Christ is active in 127 countries worldwide and is led by indigenous leadership that reflects the cultural and racial background of the community.
